Mana: It has been confirmed that 19, 528 hectares of crops have been attacked by fall armyworms in Nsanje district. Nsanje District Agricultural Development Officer (DADO) Patrick Msiyambiri told the Malawi News Agency (MANA) in an interview Wednesday that Nsanje district is now not spared from the fall armyworms attacks; but said 80 percent of the affected area is under control. Msiyambiri who described the situation as worrisome said as of now extension workers are on the ground to ensure that the pest does not spread to other gardens that have healthy crops.
